Ian,
I have a Starboard 12' 6" Cruiser that I sail, SUP, and tandem surf with my son. It comes with an attachement point. The board sails great. I suggest a concave nose for waves...

Chris,

Cheers,

I had just finished paddling and put my board on the car when I noticed a boat stuck in the lake. Their engine wasn't working. It was raining and they weren't dressed for the weather. I took the board off the car and paddled it back out. I took th...
A good source of paddling locations is the Mountaineers book, 'Paddling Puget Sound', and a few other related books by the same publisher. It's designed for kayakers, but sorta the same eh? http://www.mountaineersbooks.org/productdetails.cfm?PC=10...
I live in Indianola, near Poulsbo.......looking forward to getting my first "trial" SUP ( Sevylor Samoa) and
launching at Miller Bay or in Apple Tree Cove in the next few days.
David,
I heard the fellow had a life jacket on the board, but no leash or wet suit. The water is pretty cold up here in the Northwest. I always have a leash in cold water, and my seven year old has a life vest on, whistle, and wetsuit. I see a lo...
Hey Craig, I picked up a 4/3 this week and paddled on the Hood canal today. It's cold! I was chilled from the time I slipped on the wetsuit (in my garage) til I got dressed again. Actually,I'm still cold. It was a dry paddle, about 2 miles. I didn't wear a hood though. Stuck with the camo baseball cap!
Oh man, that is brutal. You definitely need a therapy trip! What part of Westport do you ride? I went once to the jetty when I had no clue and just got pummelled in the close out beachbreak (I was careful to not be near anyone else), then once to the Groins but the wind and current made it miserable on a SUP. I've hit Whidbey 3 times and the third one was a charm, small but fun knee to chest high. I keep an eye on the web cam and I swear there has got to be good SUP rides where the Rainbow's end cam points. I really want to go check north towards Neah bay, but now I need a Surf SUP... oh yeah, and we got a new baby so time is a bit of a premium. Where did you go in HI?
Craig- I'm sorry to hear about your Irish Wolfhound, losing your buddy sucks - there's no two ways about it. Otis is a Redbone Coonhound. I hope you find a new hound soon, they're all good. Let me know if you head north, if I can get out, I'm game to go regardless of the conditions. I went without a board for almost a month and it was killing me (I sold my 11' laird to a guy on Harstene Island), but I just picked up GreatDane's Vortice to get my fix in. Now I just need a PSH to surf!

Craig,
Yes my paddles are for sale. Because I'm not doing high volume I have been building custom paddles to order. I have pre made about ten in different lengths and wood patterns mainly for the holidays. So when you are ready just let me know. The winter months is when I spend the most time in the wood shop. Come March and April the wind starts blowing and it's Windsurfing Season.
Craig,
I have an OLD windsurfer, that I learned to SUP on, but have never sailed it... need to learn sometime as we have lots of wind.
Have you gotten much negative feed back SUP'n at West Port?
Hey Craig,
Yep, I've been to Westport. Good fun. Give me a holler if you want to go for a paddle.
Mike
