Last Sunday 2 of us ventured out for a downwinder on Bellingham Bay... sustained winds of 35mph & gusts of 50mph. Wind waves were jacking up to 6 ft. high. We donned PFD's, full suits, and a VHF radio and screamed across the bay. Can't wait to do ...

Can anyone recommend a good board repair shop? First couple inches of my nose has some bing dings into the core. I"m on Whidbey island so Seattle or Bellingham closest. Thanks
Careful how much "location" & "spots" advertising you do in public... surfers already don't like us... if we start advertising spots that have been surfed for decades... our tires will be slashed (-: Silly I know, but realistic, yes.
SUP addict since July 2008.
Firefighter, road/mtn bike racer, snowboarder, new daddy. Home town is Bellingham, WA. Home mountain is Mt. Baker.
More interested in open water/distance paddling. If there were more waves closer, I'd be stoked.

If you are referring to the wooden Tahitian style double bend shafts, I feel that the ergo benefit is there but you do not get any extra leverage, such as you do on the my Neptune shaft. What my paddle also addresses is that failures happen at the sharp bend where the blade and shaft meet. Could you give me more info/manufacturer of the paddles that you are referring to with the double bend.
Beau, thank you for the links, I've bookmarked them. Some great photos snapped from Mr. Casey, and your blog site has a nice vibe. How do I join?
The wet suit prize will have to go to someone else, I'm not going to go; however, I will be there for the final race on Thursday.
I talked with the guy who kept time and organized this week's race from urban (I don't know his name); he talked with me about facilitating another race series next year, but just through urban, not with Naish. That could be cool.
Wow, how about the landing of the "Evening" float plane plane last night during the race! What a gorgeous experience. I still have a vivid image of that colorful plane zooming right in front of you on its moments of final descent.
I was thinking about going from Everett to Whidbey island. The water seems very calm most of the time. Have you ever been tracked closely by seals? Several, rather large seals must have trailed us extremely close for a couple miles around Jetty Island. The large one was pretty intense and almost seemed angry. Any idea if they can become aggressive or are they just curious?
It's a small world. Like I said I used to live up there. Corey and I have a lot of mutual friends. Tell him Joe from Lake Stevens said hello. What time does the race start on Thursday at Gas Works?
Thank you for the heads up. I'm sure I'll see you up around Bham one of these days. I'm going to try and make the Thursday race on Lake Union. Cheers! I see you're a fire fighter. Do you know Jake Jarvis or Corey Morris?
Beau, last night was a blast! It was nice to meet you in person and out on the water. What a fun experience for all of us. Thank you for being concerned when I took that dunk.
I hope to get up to the race next week, and if so, I hope to see you there.
You talked about the Alki race put on by cheka looka... are you going to do this race as well?
