Terry Burt It's been awhile

I never got much paddling in this summer, however last week I scored a nice wave day, which isn't easy in place where we don't get good surf. Waist high waves, light winds, warm temps, and the sun was shining. Spent 3 hours scoring waves with my friend, and we were the only 2 out. It was awesome. Hoping this Sunday is going to bring some more waves again, cause it's flat out there now. Continue

Michael Ashley Any Interest in SUP SurfMaps?

I'm working with SurfMaps.com to develop a line of SUP SurfMaps to help us find better places to paddle all over the world. Would anyone be interested in a SUP Map? I want to see whether it's worth the investment or not. It would also be good to know if you would like to invest in the project, or become a partner of sorts. Let me know what you think and whether it's something we should pursue or not. Thanks! Continue

But this September the largest assembly of divers and like minded volunteers will join in a global clean up aimed at helping preserve the marine environment. “Even trash in Kentucky eventually washes out to the sea,” says Jenny Miller Garmendia, Director of Project AWARE Foundation (PAF), a nonprofit organization that conserves underwater environments through education, advocacy and action. “The challenge arou… Continue

NOVA Perseid meteor shower/paddle surf....sound fun?

This is an activity that I wish I could do...but 1st I have to learn how to paddle surf. :( Not even sure if it's possible? Can you surf in the dark? You need to be away from the city lights...around 2 am...is the best time to view it. I hope someone experienced does this and tell me all about it! (Tip: if you can find a lake by a mountain, that's ideal). Continue

jackson Good flatwater paddle

Flat as a pancake from shrove tuesday today so i had to content myself with a distance paddle. I say distance paddle but it was only 5 miles and STILL took around 2 hours! 11ft board sitting deep in the water with my excess weight on it! I'm also wondering if taking my old straight paddle out (no bend in it) was such a good idea. One of these days I will get fit enough to break the 3mph mark easily!
